It takes a community to build a co-op, and that's exactly what's happening in McHenry County right now. Our first ownership drive ended at midnight on December 31st with 230 OWNERS! That's 15 more than our goal of 215 and we couldn't be happier!
We would not have come this far without your support. Thank you!
Now that the Food Shed Co-op has our first 230 owners, we have met the initial threshold for public support, proving that the people of McHenry County really do want a food co-op. Also, with this milestone achieved, we officially move from Organizing, the first stage in our timeline*, into the second stage, Feasibility and Planning. Good news is we are already ahead of schedule for the second stage as many of the key initiative are well under way! We also look forward to executing on our 2015 resolutions that will have us out in the community making new connections, educating, promoting and finding our next 230+ owners.
*Please note that our timeline is an estimate, the quicker we bring on new owners the quicker we open the doors!
We have an action packed winter planned and the events start this weekend.
