John Teetsov

John was born and raised in Crystal Lake when McHenry county was a connected, rural network of family farms providing diverse, local food choices. During a career working in the DC area, California and internationally, he has experienced a broad range of ideals and approaches to producing and selling healthy food. Since recently returning home to help his parents, John lives in an 1890s farm house in rural Woodstock.

John brings 35 years of work with construction, design and diverse public procurement programs to the Food shed effort. John is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in Architecture and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. In his free time, John volunteers at Hooved Animal Humane Society and enjoys family, experimenting with growing techniques in his garden and playing guitar. John found the Food Shed Co-op while attending a talk by Mr. Don Wilkins on regenerative agriculture at Soulful Prairie and immediately became an owner. As Board Member serving on the Finance and Store Operations committees, John is directing his infrastructure and business experience to shaping the ideal physical space to meet YOUR vision of OUR Store.
